I just got back to work so I am throwing all the e-mails about our institutions re: Matthew into this one blog post:

From Coastal Discovery Museum/ Heritage Library: Island History Day is postponed. New date TBD.

From Coastal Discovery Museum: The Arkhaois Cultural Heritage and Archaeology Film Festival is postponed. New date TBD.

From George, HHI Chapter, ASSC: Hi Folks, Hurricane Mathew hit us hard! The last one of this scope was in the 1880s. As expected due the extensive recovery effort the October 15th meeting is cancelled. Our planned speaker Brent Burgin will be rescheduled. Best regards and stay safe, George

From Beaufort History Museum/Beaufort County Library about “The Anchorage” lecture: Postponed until a new date can be arranged

From the Beaufort District Collection: Postponed “What the Heck Is It?” until a new date can be arranged.

From the Heritage Library: The Heritage Library will be closed for the week of October 10 – 14, hopefully to re-open on Monday, October 17, at 10:00am.  Please check our website at www.HeritageLib.org for updates. History Day, scheduled for Saturday, October 15, will be re-scheduled on a later date. All classes and programs that have been pre-paid will be refunded. From Victoria Smalls at Penn Center: Effective Wednesday, October 5, 2016 @ 12 Noon through Monday, October 10, 2016, we will be closing down due to the impending Hurricane Matthew and then Columbus Holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. Everyone be safe!
