Historic Trees for Historic Places


The Avid Gardeners of Hilton Head Plantation are donating a live oak to Ft. Mitchel, as part of their 2014 program, “Historic Trees for Historic Places.”  The planting ceremony will take place this Thursday, March 20, at 10:00 at Ft. Mitchel in Hilton Head Plantation. Entrance to the Plantation may be obtained by stopping at either gate for a pass. Ft. Mitchel is owned and maintained by The Heritage Library Foundation.

A tour of Ft. Mitchel will immediately follow the planting.  To register for the tour, call the Coastal Discovery Museum at 843-689-6767, ext. 223. Fees are $12 per adult and $7 per child ages 6-12.
