Queen Quet returns for Ooman's (Woman's) Herstory Month 03/28 by CULTURAL JOURNEYS | Blog Talk Radio

This year’s event is being co-chaired by our own, Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation   (www.QueenQuet.com) and Dr. Valerie Jackson of the Beaufort County School District.

Three days of celebration will take place on the campus of the historic Penn School from November 7-9 and the weekend culminates with fellowships at the local churches.   Oytotunji African Village, Penn graduates and staff, Penn Club members, and Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation will all be a part of the 3 pm opening ceremony and founder’s memorial service on Thursday.   This will be followed by the opening of the “Taste of the Sea Islands” in the Penn…
