ASSC Hilton Head Chapter- presents

Natalie Adams-Pope

Nov. 20th, 2012 7 pm

Tuesday, Nov. 20th, 7 pm Natalie Adams-Pope, Vice President of New South Associates discusses their work on the Yauhannah Bluff Plantation on the Great Pee Dee River. The campaign examined early to mid 18th century to early 19th century plantation main house complex and also looked for a 1710`s Indian Trading Post.

All ASSC/HH meetings are held at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Historic Honey Horn off of Hwy 278 on Hilton Head Island. All meetings are free and open to the public.

Natalie Adams-Pope, RPA, serves New South Associates as Executive Vice President of Archaeology, as Branch Manager of the Columbia, South Carolina office, and as Principal Investigator. As Vice President, she oversees the work of the Archaeology Department including report and project review and performance evaluations.

Ms. Adams received her B.A. in Anthropology and History from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her M.A. in Public Service Archaeology from the University of South Carolina.

Nov. 4 -11- SC State Parks and ASSC Charleston Chapter are hosting a volunteer excavation at Hampton Plantation State Park. All ASSC members are welcome!

Dec. 4th – 7 pm ASSC/HH Chapter Christmas Social-

Jan. 15th – 7 pm Adam King of SCIAA discussing the Etowah site

Jan. 26th 3rd Annual “What the Heck is It?” Artifact Identification Program with Drs. Jon Leader and Eric Poplin expert analysts.

Feb. 19th – 1:00 PM. State Underwater Archaeologist Jim Spirek will discuss Civil War Naval Operations and Shipwrecks in SC.

March 2- Saturday Annual Conference on South Carolina Archaeology, USC Columbia campus

March 19th – 7 pm Carleton Naylor- The Day the Johnboat Went Up the Mountain: Stories from My Twenty Years in South Carolina Maritime Archaeology
