New Supper Society

Tickets are still available for a new dining experience sponsored by two Beaufort non-profit organizations that offers an unforgettable menu created by local chefs in an invitation-only historic setting. The Supper Society scheduled for Thursday, July 26 at 7 p.m. is being held by Historic Beaufort Foundation and Main Street Beaufort USA to support preservation and revitalization projects in the core commercial area of the National Historic Landmark District.

Chefs Stephanie Capers of Sweetgrass Restaurant on Dataw Island and Sherri Whitmire formerly of The Gullah House will prepare a four-course Lowcountry supper featuring fresh pork from Tuten Meats in Ridgeland, SC and emphasize local and sustainable produce. Music will be provided by the Sidestreet Walkers. Service will be provided by the Tri-Command First Class Petty Officers Association. The event is B.Y.O.B.

The distinctive location of the dinner is kept secret from those who make reservations until two days prior. Seating is extremely limited and reservations are required.

Reservations are $65 per person and can be purchased by calling the HBF office at 843.379.3331, the Main Street office 843-525-6644 or online at

Both HBF and Main Street are accredited by The National Trust for Historic Preservation and have partnered on other projects and events. This new series will help fund future joint projects, including a proposed grant program to restore historic façades  in Beaufort’s commercial district. The Foundation and Main Street welcome ideas for special locations to host the event. If you are interested in providing a location for one of these events, please contact either organization.
