Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation continues to be a champion for the Sea Island environment and the continuation of the traditions on the Gullah/Geechee coastline.  Her efforts have led to her being selected as a “Traditional Knowledge Scholarship” recipient for the 2012 National Marine Educators Association.  Queen Quet was also selected as a presenter for this year’s conference which is being held in Anchorage, Alaska.
