Civil War Symposium, Fri. Nov. 11th


As the first year of the Civil War Sesquicentennial draws to a close, historians, educators and Civil War buffs will have a unique opportunity to journey through The Civil War in 3-D on November 11, 2011 at the University of South Carolina Performing Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Civil War photography expert, Bob Zeller, will present Lincoln in 3D, a complete stereoscopic slide show on the history of the presidency of Abraham Lincoln and the battlefield photography of America’s epic Civil War. The 45-minute digital presentation will be shown in the original stereographic format. The show also includes three of the earliest photographs of St. Helena Island.

Bob  Zeller, who narrates the show live, is co-founder and president of the non-profit Center for Civil War Photography ( and is one of the leading collectors of original Civil War photography.
