Toyota & Audubon recently selected Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) for a “TogetherGreen Fellowship.”   Queen Quet is launching the first series of public events for her project entitled, “Gullah/Geechee SEA & ME” in which SEA stands for “saving environmental actions” and ME stands for “marine environment.”  Queen Quet will personally host two Gullah/Geechee Famlee Days in the coming months.  The first will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 beginning at 3 pm on Edisto Island, SC.  The participants will travel down the Edisto National Scenic Byway and will learn about Gullah/Geechee history, fishing traditions, and living from the land and sea along the way.  This will culminate with a special ancestral tribute ceremony at Botany Bay Plantation Heritage Preserve at 6 pm in conjunction with the Gullah/Geechee Nation International Music & Movement Festival™ (www.gullahgeechee.info) opening.   This was the site at…
